We’re looking for an energetic Non-Executive Director under 30 years of age to join Scouts Australia’s National Executive Committee, and help young people create a better world. Applications from young women and those who identify as gender diverse are strongly encouraged.
You are a role model for youth and adults alike, who is passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential. You are a visionary leader who collaborates across Australia and the world to ensure safe and inclusive environments for everyone. You advocate for, and act on, issues that are affecting young people.
You are committed to developing young people to take on challenges in the community and driven to see young people champion our future. You might also have some expertise in the fields of insurance, law, or government relations. If not, we hope you can still make a contribution in other areas.
You will guide Scouts Australia’s leadership to ensure that our programs and operations align with the needs and interests of young people within Australia. You will share your experience and insights with passionate volunteers to help deliver our current and future projects that enable our 67,000 members across Australia to enjoy every moment of their Scouting. You will help to innovate Scouts Australia’s approach to engaging youth and the community to ensure all young people can benefit from the positive impacts of scouting.
Scouts Australia, with a legacy spanning over 116 years, is the nation’s foremost youth development organisation. Guided by the Scout Promise and Law, Scouts Australia provide young Australians aged between 5 and 25 with a broad developmental program that promotes personal growth, leadership, and community engagement.
Our mission, as the largest non-formal education provider, is to contribute to the development of young people through a values system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. With members across Australia and part of a network of 176 national scout organisations boasting 57 million members globally, Scouts Australia’s impact is profound and far-reaching.
We’re excited to hear about how you will support young people in achieving their best and guide Scouts Australia in supporting youth across Australia. To apply, we would like to know how you will address the selection criteria. Also see the position description.
