National Annual Meeting 2024

The 2024 Scouts Australia Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at the Baden Powell Activity Centre in Pennant Hills, NSW over the period 22-24 November. Approximately 80 people from across Australia participated in the AGM meeting and activities.

The Chiefs Council on Friday night was the first official activity, followed over the weekend by workshops focused on the Key Moves of our Strategic Plan, along with National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Operations Committee (NOC) meetings.

The AGM occurred on Saturday evening and ran extremely well, including the online voting component. It was immediately followed by dinner and an incredible showcase of Scouting activities hosted by an immensely talented group of Youth members. During the AGM, the Scouts Australia Annual Report 2024 was delivered and unanimously endorsed by the National Council.

It is important to note that the Annual Report 2024 covers the period 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. Therefore, the report reflects the dates for the delivery of the Strategic Plan as originally conceived: 2023-2026. However, at a meeting of the NEC on 21 September 2024, the decision was made to adjust the delivery dates of our Strategic Plan to align with the 2024-2027 World Triennial Plan, as approved at the 43rd World Scout Conference in August 2024. This decision ensures that from 2024 onwards, Scouts Australia will be aligned with the direction of World Scouting.

To that end, with effect 21 September 2024, the delivery of the Scouts Australia Strategic Plan will be based on the 2024-2027 World Triennial Plan. References to the Strategic Plan, including on our website, will be updated to reflect this adjustment.

The Annual General Meeting weekend ended with more Key Move workshops on Sunday morning and concluded on Sunday afternoon.

I would like to thank our National President Kevin Scarce AC CSC RAN (Rtd), Chief Commissioner Brendan Watson OAM, NEC Chair Toby Phillips, and all members of the National Council, NEC, NOC, the National Team, the National Rover Council and the National Executive Officer Network for their attendance. Special thanks to the National Support Team who coordinated and assisted throughout the weekend. Thanks also to Scouts NSW for providing such a sensational venue, and to our Youth Members, all of whom represented the very best of Scouting.
