Scouting and resilience go hand in hand. Previous studies* on Scouting and resilience show what we Scouts, parents and leaders see every day as our youth members grow towards their potential. Six years since our last survey, Scouts Australia has partnered with Resilient Youth Australia to conduct research on the impact of Scouting on young Australians.
A study by World Scouting* in 2018 demonstrated that amongst other qualities, Scouts demonstrated
The study completed in Australia in 2019 highlighted that Scouts stand out significantly from non–Scouts, demonstrating higher levels of life satisfaction and faring better across all three components of resilience (Connected, Protected, Respected) and their corresponding nine reporting domains.
Now it’s time for us to explore the impact of Scouting on young Australians again. Scouts Australia invites youth members to participate in an easy to answer online survey. The answers will help us fine tune our program to improve overall resilience in young people. The results will also help us communicate to others what we know – that Scouting develops resilience in young people everywhere.
Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts are invited to participate. The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete.

You may wish to conduct this during your weekly meetings on a mobile device.
The survey is being conducted by Resilient Youth Australia, the same company that conducts resilience surveys for the education sector. Answers will be kept confidential.
