Since the launch of the updated Scouts Australia branding in 2019 developed by world-renowned graphic designer Dr Ken Cato AO, Scout Groups and Branches across the country have played a vital role in making Scouting more visible and better recognised within our communities.
We are proud to have used the name Scouts Australia and the iconic fleur-de-lis logo since as early as 1907. These symbols embody more than a century of Scouting tradition and values.
Scouts Australia is the registered owner of numerous Australian trademark registrations. Any unauthorised use of Scouts Trademarks may constitute trademark infringement, and it is essential that we all help protect and respect these trademarks.
The Scouts Australia brand must be used responsibly to protect its integrity. It is not permitted to use the branding for non-Scouting activities without written permission from the National Organisation, for personal or financial gain, or to imply endorsement of a product or service without a formal agreement. Additionally, individuals or organisations outside of Scouts Australia may not use the brand in any way, including for commercial purposes, without explicit authorisation.
We are grateful to our Scouting community for helping to share and strengthen our brand identity across the country. Your efforts play a key role in building the public profile of Scouting.
Here are some simple ways you can continue to support and protect the Scouts Australia brand:
To ensure the brand is used consistently and effectively, Scouts Australia provides a range of branding ideas, templates, and guidelines through the Brand Centre. Correct and consistent use of the brand strengthens its impact and promotes Scouting in a unified and professional way.
We encourage all members to read the Brand Book and contact brand@scouts.com.au with any questions or for support.
