Continuous improvement ensures our program remains youth-centered, relevant and attractive. We’re seeking input on the Achievement Pathways from youth and volunteers across the country to identify what’s working and what’s not, so we can make improvements that are responsive to your experiences.
The Achievement Pathways are how we recognise personal progression for individual Scouts. This includes Milestones, Outdoor Adventure Skills, Special Interest Areas, and other achievements. Every Scout’s journey is unique as the Achievement Pathways enable young people to challenge themselves through a diverse range of experiences.
So we can hear the voices of as many members as possible, we have created three local-led activities for Units and Groups to run. All you need to do is read the instructions, gather your Unit or Leaders for an insightful conversation, and submit your findings.
To take part, follow the links below for instructions relevant to your section.
Big ideas start small – let’s hear what your Joey Scouts or Cub Scouts think of their program and personal progression. Lead this interactive game as part of a Unit night and share what you see or hear.
Unpack your program, share your thoughts, and have your voice heard on how the Achievement Pathways can work better for you and your Unit. Lead this discussion as part of a Unit night and then submit your responses.
Take a step back and tell us what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next in your Group’s program delivery. Lead this conversation with the Youth Program Leaders in your Group and share what you discuss.
This is an opportunity for every Unit across all age sections to answer some big questions, spark meaningful dialogue, and take the lead in shaping the future. It’s simple to do and all insights help us build better programs.
Please submit your responses by Friday, October 5. If you have any questions, or you need help with one of the resources above, please email youth.program.support@scouts.com.au
