Lord Baden-Powell Society
Australian Jamboree Yearly Appeal
The Lord Baden-Powell Society continues to raise funds through its Jamboree Appeal to help young people experience transformative events like the upcoming Australian Jamboree in 2028 (AJ2028) taking place in December 2027.
The Lord Baden-Powell Society (LBPS) is the donor society within Scouts Australia which was set up in 1984 to support Youth Members whose families are experiencing financial difficulties, to attend major Scouting Events such as the Australian Jamboree, the World Scout Jamboree, Australian Venture just to name a few.
For many young Scouts attending a Jamboree is their first big adventure. Away from home for nine nights, having to manage and take responsibility for themselves, meeting new people from different cultures and walks of life and working in patrols to get the jobs done. The benefits and experiences from the Jamboree are endless and will be remembered by these young Australians forever.
n recent years our members and supporters have been very generous in supporting our annual Jamboree Appeals and we are confident that this time too is no exception.
All money raised from our Jamboree Appeals is distributed to our State Branches who in turn are responsible for identifying and dispersing the funding they have requested according to those families in their State who need it most. Without this financial support, our young Scouts would not have the opportunity to experience the camaraderie and adventures that a Scout Jamboree brings.
The amount of money raised will determine how many families will benefit, so we always hope for the success of each Jamboree Appeal.
We hope to assist more young people to attend upcoming events, with $93,000 so far raised, we are working to reach our intended target of $150,000.
