AJ2025 Jamboree Appeal
The Lord Baden-Powell Society continues to raise funds through the Jamboree Appeal to help young people to experience transformative events like AJ2025.
The Lord Baden-Powell Society (LBPS) is the donor society within Scouts Australia. The Society conducts fundraising through its Jamboree Appeal to support youth members in need to attend major Scouting events such as the Australian Jamboree, Australian Venture and the World Scout Jamboree.
All money raised in the Jamboree Appeal is distributed to young people who may not have otherwise have the opportunity to experience the transformative adventure of a Scout Jamboree.
The amount of money distributed to each event depends on the success of the Jamboree Appeal and the number of events being supported at any particular time. The Society’s first priority is to support national events and therefore striving to fundraise for the next 26th Australian Jamboree to be held in Queensland – AJ2025.
There are, however, two other major international events happening before AJ2025 takes place, and they are:
- 25 World Scout Jamboree 2023 in South Korea
- New Zealand Jamboree in 2024
Due to the generosity of our Members and others contributing to the Jamboree Appeal, the LBPS has already distributed $24,000 in June this year, to support Scouts and Venturer Scouts attend the World Scout Jamboree by request from the International Commissioner.
We hope to support more young people and upcoming events, but we have missed out on two years of fundraising, and along with money raised being down across most not-for-profit organisations, we are working to achieve our intended target of $150K by next year.
Therefore, please help us achieve our goal so that more young Scouts and Venturer Scouts can benefit from the life-changing events that our great organisation puts together year-on-year.
Our aim is to raise $150,000 by 2023.
