Be the Voice of Youth on the NEC

As part of a revamp of our National Executive Committee (NEC), we’re now seeking Expressions of Interest from keen and motivated young people to contribute to the decision making on the National Executive Committee. The National Executive Committee (NEC) effectively acts as the Board and is responsible for governance, financial management, strategy, and policy for Scouts Australia.

To complement the existing skillset of the NEC, we are seeking to identify individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Governance;
  • Risk Management;
  • Public Relations and Marketing; or
  • People and Culture

We are actively seeking diverse representation on the NEC and are specifically seeking applications from people currently aged under 30 and from all backgrounds and cultures from anywhere in Australia. Prior Board experience is not necessary, but a strong desire to help guide the direction of Scouting in Australia is.

You do not have to be a current member of Scouts to be considered but this is position is specifically reserved for a representative under 30 years of age.

This is an unpaid volunteer role, and it must be noted that all Scouts Leaders and management are required to undertake Police and Working With Children Checks prior to appointment.

Additional information and specific selection guidelines regarding the role are included in the Briefing Pack.

Expressions of Interest should include a brief cover letter and CV and be emailed to ngm@scouts.com.au. Applications will close 7 November 2022. Interviews will be conducted during early November.
