Venturer Scouts

Australian Venturer Scouts have two options at the 23rd New Zealand Jamboree, depending on their age at the time of the event.  

There are three age categories relevant to Venturer Scouts: 

• Category 1: for Venturer Scouts who have not had their 16th birthday before the 30 December 2023, the only available option to attend the New Zealand Jamboree will be Venturer Active. 
• Category 2: Venturer Scouts who have their 16th birthday on or after 30 December 2023 and are not older than 16 years and four months on 30 December 2023 have two options to attend the New Zealand Jamboree: Venturer Active or the Jamboree Support Team. 
• Category 3: for Venturer Scouts who are 16 years, four months and one day or over on 30 December 2023, the only option available is to attend the New Zealand Jamboree as a member of the Jamboree Support Team. 

Venturer Active 

• The Venturer Active option involves a mix of Jamboree activities that the Scouts will be doing, and a service project in the Hamilton City or Waikato area. 
• Venturer Scouts participating in the Venturer Active option will camp with other Venturer Scouts at the Jamboree Support Team base. 
• Catering for all Venturer Active participants will be via the Staff cafeteria. 
• Australian Venturer Scouts participating in the Venturer Active option will be charged the Australian Contingent fee for Scouts ($3,795 without the Post-Tour, or $5,135 with the Post-Tour). 

Jamboree Support Team 

• Jamboree Support Team members will help to deliver the Jamboree program. Other roles may be available. These Venturer Scouts will not participate in the Scout program at the Jamboree – they are attending in a support capacity.   
• Members of the Jamboree Support Team will travel to the Jamboree site on 28 December 2023, before the main Australian Contingent is due to arrive. This is to enable Jamboree Support Team members to undertake a site induction.  
• Venturer Scouts participating in the Jamboree Support Team will camp with other Venturer Scouts at the Jamboree Support Team base. 
• Catering for all Jamboree Support Team members will be via the Staff cafeteria. 
• Australian Venturer Scouts in the Jamboree Support Team will be charged the Australian Contingent fee for Venturer Scouts ($3,095 without the Post-Tour, or $4,435 with the Post-Tour). 

 Australian Contingent Post-Tour 

• Australian Venturer Scouts we welcome to join our Post-Tour.  
• Venturer Scouts on the Australian Contingent Post-Tour will have the same tour itinerary as Scouts participating in the Post-Tour.  
• Places on the Post-Tour are limited to 150 participants. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Payment Schedule

Submitting an application is no guarantee of acceptance to attend the 23rd New Zealand Jamboree. Payments more than one month late may result in withdrawal. The Contingent reserves the right to refuse any application at any time, in which case a full refund will be made.
