Stephen Smart

Contingent Leader

Stephen has been in Scouting for over 50 years, having joined Cub Scouts in 1969. He progressed through all the Youth sections gaining his Queen’s Scout Award. Stephen has held many positions at Group, Region, and State levels, he is currently ACT Assistant Branch Commissioner (Major Events). Stephen has attended many International and National Jamborees/Ventures. He is currently retired and spends time travelling.

Deputy Contingent Leader

Lloyd is the Branch International Commissioner for Scouts NSW. He joined Scouts back in 2006 as a Cub Scout and has been right through all Sections. Lloyd has had plenty of National and International Travel experiences with the latest being Deputy Contingent Leader to WSJ2019, and annual visits to Kandersteg International Scout Centre. In between Scouting, he works as a Program Manager in the Customer Experience Team at Woolworths Group, where he runs the Team and Customer Listening Programs.

Toby Luck

Toby Luck

Assistant Contingent Leader

Toby is an aspiring member of Scouting. Since 2010 he has risen through the sections doing his best to participate in every opportunity available. In 2016 he attended his first overseas trip to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. At age 14, he hiked the Swiss Alps! He continued to become one of the Global Ambassadors at the 2019 World Scout Jamboree. A very unique role that was very rewarding at the WSJ. He continues to grow and learn in scouting and one day will be leading a contingent of his own!

Phoebe Scalora

Phoebe Scalora

Assistant Contingent Leader

Phoebe began her scouting journey when she was 7 in 2009 as a Cub Scout. She went through Scouts and Venturer Scouts achieving her Australian Scout Medallion and more recently, her Queen’s Scout Award. Throughout Venturers she has had the best experiences of her life. She’s attended two Ventures – Australian Venture 2018 and New Zealand Venture 2019. To top off her travelling, she attended WSJ2019. She hopes that for Korea 2023, everyone has a fantastic time as she did in America in 2019.

Director, Admin, Finance, Comms and Risk

Nicola is the Branch Commissioner International for SA Branch, a Group Leader and Venturer Leader. She was a Guide from age 7 to 15 when she moved to Venturers and continued on through the Rover Section. She received her Queen’s Scout Award. Nicola has attended many Jamborees, Ventures and World Jamborees in a variety of roles. Nicola has been a leader for 30+ years and is a Life Member of SA Branch. In her “spare time” Nicola works as a Teacher of the Deaf and supports schools to install and maintain sound field systems in their classrooms.

Matt Ferris

Matt Ferris

Matt has been involved with Scouting since 2006, starting at a Scout in South Australia and progressing through to Rovers. He’s attended multiple national and international events in varying roles including; contingent leader and welfare team member. In his professional life he lives in the Gold Coast working as both a Paramedic and Nurse, in addition to being an academic at university. Matt, together with his amazing team, is 100% committed to providing a safe, enjoyable and healthy international experience to all contingent members.

Shane Troyahn

Shane Troyahn

Shane hails from Brisbane and is the Assistant Group Leader at Marsden Scout Group. He joined scouting as a cub scout at the age of 7 and have been a part of it ever since now for over 20 years. He has attend the last four World Scout Jamborees, being the Australian Contingent Leader to the World Jamboree in America, the Australian Deputy Contingent Leader for the World Jamboree in Japan in 2015, a Subcamp Leader at the World Jamboree in Sweden in 2011 and an IST member at the World Jamboree in England in 2007. Shane has also attended 3 Australian Jamboree and one other international jamboree.  Away from scouting he is married with 4 kids and works for Tinamba Turf as the Assistant Farm Manager and Grower. Other interests include Cricket, AFL and exploring the great outdoors.
